BACKGROUND
Roadmap for Women and Youth Development (RAWYOD) is a youth-led independent development and humanitarian non-profit organization aimed to protect women, youth and children’s rights. It is an organization established to motivate, organize and unite the people with interest in community development agenda focusing on Health, Nutrition, Protection, Environment, Education, WASH, Livelihood/Food Security and Peace Building. We work to establish a platform where everyone including women has voice to facilitate the improvement of basic livelihood for all while creating safe environment for peaceful coexisting through community activities such as peace building mechanisms for prevention of violence and conflict in Northeast Nigeria and beyond. We believe in the power and potentials of every woman, youth and child, but now this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination of different kinds.
Job Title: Nutrition Case Worker
Location: Madagali, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract
Period: 3 months (with possibility of extension)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with the Nutrition and MEAL Officers, the Nutrition Case Worker will implement the following key I-MAM (Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition) community activities:
• Community mobilization & sensitization
• Active case finding (screening) within communities using MUAC tap
• Follow up of OTP (Out Patient therapeutic program) cases and absentees/defaulters:
• Follow up of SFP (Supplementary feeding program) cases and absentees/defaulters if required:
• Follow up of infant and young children feeding (cases if required: Health, nutrition and IYCF education
• Participate in I-MAM general program management duties as requested (e.g.
distribution planning, monitoring and reporting) and perform other tasks as negotiated (e.g. training of staff/volunteers).
• Converse with mothers at sites and regularly conduct surveys evaluating the mothers’ understanding of the messages and the program in general.
• Explore all links with individual members of the community (e.g. village chiefs, traditional midwives, local health employees) and develop their engagement and ownership of the community-based activities.
• Conduct child visit and administer Vitamin A and ORS/Zinc including reporting on CommCare Platform
• Adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for infants and children and PLWs.
• Mentoring and assist educators in decision of patients who are at severe risks and need to be transferred to nearby SC or hospital.
• Identifying patients who need to be transferred to nearby SC, patients with failure to respond to treatment and patients who need to be discharged.
• In agreement with line manager, perform other required duties within reason (in line with skills and experience).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Healthcare service provider (CHEW, J-CHEW etc)
• Experience in Nutrition and community-based programming
• Experience of working with digital reporting tools (such as CommCare, Kobo Collect ODK etc)
• Experience of emergency nutrition work (preferably I-MAM) and implementation of feeding programs, including monitoring and evaluation
• Proven capacity of management, leadership and teamwork
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their careers.
• Commitment to and understanding of RAWYOD’s aims, values and principles.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and local languages.
