What you become a part of:
- As the National Sales Manager (Nigeria, Pharma) for our pharmaceutical company, you will be responsible for leading and directing the overall sales strategy and execution across the Nigerian market.
- You will manage a team of Zonal Sales Managers, who in turn lead the regional sales teams, to ensure consistent delivery of sales targets and drive growth for our diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical products.
- This is a critical leadership role in shaping the sales culture and driving sales excellence throughout the organization in Nigeria.
What to expect:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the national sales strategy and plan to achieve ambitious revenue goals in the Nigerian market
- Manage and lead a team of Zonal Sales Managers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to help them succeed
- Analyze national sales data, market trends, and competitor activities in Nigeria to identify growth opportunities and optimize the sales approach
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop effective sales enablement materials and multichannel campaigns targeted at the Nigerian market
- Foster strong relationships with key healthcare providers, hospital networks, and other influential industry stakeholders in Nigeria
- Monitor the performance of the Zonal Sales Managers and sales teams in Nigeria, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Identify and address training and development needs for the sales organization in Nigeria to build capabilities
- Represent the sales function in cross-functional initiatives and strategic decision-making at the executive level.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations, evolving treatment guidelines, and best practices in pharmaceutical sales in the Nigerian context
- Continuously refine the sales processes, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the Nigerian market.
- Essential education, experience & skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a sales leadership role, specifically in the Nigerian market
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in the Nigerian pharmaceutical market
- Extensive knowledge of the Nigerian pharmaceutical industry, product portfolio, and competitive landscape
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills to develop and motivate Zonal Sales Managers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and make data-driven decisions • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively engage with healthcare professionals in Nigeria
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical, and regulatory, in the Nigerian context
- Willingness to travel extensively within Nigeria to support the sales team and maintain customer relationships
- Fluency in English and familiarity with local languages in Nigeria is preferred.
