Jela’s Development Initiatives is calling on all willing Nigerians to join her 3-month virtual, nation-wide J Blood Match Advocacy programme. 
J Blood Match Advocates serve as volunteer ambassadors of J Blood Match, an app that connects voluntary blood donors with recipients using their blood type and location. They will be part of a network of individuals who are committed to advocating for blood donation and increasing the voluntary blood donor pool in Nigeria.  
Their role is to use the resources available to them to raise awareness on voluntary blood donation and spread the word amongst their network on how JBM bridges the gaps in blood donor access while registering new donors on the platform. 
The Programme is unpaid and builds the advocacy skills of the participant to help them make a difference that can literally save a life. 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

  • You must be based in Nigeria. Any state of the Federation is acceptable. 
  • You must be above the age of 18.  
  • You must be available to part in a virtual 3-day intensive training between 16th and 18th of March, 2023 
  • You must be ready to commit to the entire 3-month programme 
  • You must have a smart phone and access to stable internet connection 
  • Strong public speaking, persuasive and critical thinking skills are required   

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Develop and implement strategies on how to reach a wider audience for JBM 
  • Assist people to register, use and understand appropriate information concerning JBM 
  • Report views and concerns of individuals on JBM directly to JDI 
  • Promote JBM on personal social media pages and traditional media platforms the Advocate has access to.  
  • Use social media materials provided by the JDI team to promote voluntary blood donation and JBM 
  • Create awareness on the need to increase the blood donor pool in Nigeria 
  • Raise other advocates for JBM 
  • Commit to being a JBM Advocate for at least three months, after which the commitment may be renewed or withdrawn.
