The Restoration of Hope Initiative is a Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in 2012 and began operations in 2015 in the areas of education, protection, WASH, and livelihood. ROHI has helped over 700,000 children in the Northeast to have access to inclusive quality education by establishing infrastructure and boosting the capacity of educational institutions since its inception in 2012. ROHI specializes in education programming, as well as developmental programming and humanitarian assistance.
Job Title: MEAL Officer
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
Employment Type: Full time
Duty Station: Maiduguri, Borno State with frequent travels to Adamawa and other implementing locations
The North East crisis has increased the number of individuals forced to relocate, hampered access to educational opportunities, heightened security concerns, and demanded the provision of life-saving services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to measure program effectiveness
- Ensuring data quality and accuracy through regular reviews and validation
- Preparing reports, dashboards, and visual representations of findings
- Collaborating with teams to make data-driven recommendations for program improvement.
- Developing and managing databases for data storage and retrieval
- Providing training and support to staff on M&E methodologies and tools
- Conducting regular field visits to ensure data collection integrity and provide on-the-ground support to project teams.
- Managing and maintaining an up-to-date database of beneficiaries, project activities, and indicators.
- Collaborating with project managers to develop effective log frames, indicators, and data collection tools.
- Leading the process of data collection, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other research methodologies.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical data collection and privacy standards, including obtaining informed consent when necessary.
- Applying advanced statistical analysis to identify trends, correlations, and outliers in the data.
- Summarizing and visualizing complex data into comprehensible reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Assisting in the preparation of grant proposals, impact assessments, and evaluation reports.
- Staying current with industry best practices and emerging trends in monitoring and evaluation and adapting our methods accordingly.
- Offering continuous capacity-building and training to project staff and partners to enhance M&E competencies.
Qualification and Requirements
- Qualification and Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science or survey and Geoinformatics is preferred
- Proven experience (Minimum 3 years) in monitoring and evaluation field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or statistical software)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to carry out data analysis with Tableau, SPSS, ArcGIS is an added advantage
