Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions. FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Job Title: MEAL Officer

Location: ZAMFARA
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • Ensure the follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation of the project in the implementation location.
  • Design, execution, and monitoring of project monitoring plans.
  • Support the design and development of project evaluation processes (baseline, intermediate, and final), applying methodologies, tools, and techniques of applied research for the collection of quantitative and qualitative information in the LGA of implementation.
  • Routine monitoring that includes field monitoring visits to the project implementation site and providing technical support and on-the-job training for project staff and volunteers.
  • Design and apply evaluation and/or monitoring forms (post-distribution monitoring, exit surveys, etc.) for digital data collection.
  • Support in the preparation of proposals and project planning.
  • Documentation of lessons learned, case studies, etc.
  • Management of databases, as well as corresponding means of verification.
  • Promotion and monitoring of the implementation of the community feedback system or other accountability spaces.
  • Generating reports.
  • Participation in follow-up meetings with implementing partners to follow up on MEAL department issues.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in any relevant field.
  • Degree in international relief and development, social sciences, public health, statistics/research methods, or related fields; may be substituted for length of experience.
  • Thorough familiarity and field experience applying principles and approaches to monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian and emergency contexts using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Experience with capacity building of staff, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops.
  • Master’s degree in Research, Humanitarian/Development Studies, Statistics, Education, Economics, Social Sciences, or any other relevant studies.
  • Women and Persons with disability are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Preferably indigene of Zamfara State
  • Proficiency in Hausa is a must
  • Thorough familiarity and field experience applying principles and approaches to monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian and emergency contexts using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Experience in WASH, FSL and Nutrition programming
  • Experience with capacity building of staff, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience monitoring and evaluating projects applying social research methodologies and information collection through qualitative and quantitative techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups, among others.)
  • Experience in monitoring and tracking BHA-funded projects.
