Position: MEAL Officer
Location: Maiduguri Borno State
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 6 Months
Qualification: BSc/HND
Reports to: Program Manager

 Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MEAL Officer to support the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across our programs. The ideal candidate will ensure data quality, promote accountability, and facilitate learning for improved program performance.

 Key Responsibilities

            •          Develop and implement MEAL frameworks, tools, and plans

            •          Conduct routine data collection, analysis, and reporting

            •          Ensure data quality through regular verification and validation

            •          Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments

            •          Maintain program databases and tracking systems

            •          Promote accountability mechanisms (feedback and complaint systems)

            •          Facilitate learning sessions and documentation of best practices

            •          Prepare timely reports for internal and donor use

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience in MEAL or M&E roles
  • Strong knowledge of data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, KoboToolbox, SPSS)
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Desired Skills

            •          Experience working in NGO or development sector

            •          Knowledge of donor reporting requirements

            •          Good communication and interpersonal skills
