Protection without Borders league (POWIB) is an independent youth-led non-governmental organization which operates by principle of non-discrimination, transparency in rendering specialized services, responses and assistance to individuals and families in need. POWIB provide services and assistance in the areas of Child Protection, Health, Education, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Counter-trafficking, Countering Violence Extremism (CVE), Capacity Building of CBOs and CSOs, peacebuilding, data collection and analysis, humanitarian and development research and analysis. Response is delivered due to the negative impact of conflict in affected communities while paying specific attention to the most vulnerable among the affected populace.

Job Description
The MEAL Assistant will support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities, data collection, accountability mechanisms, and reporting processes to ensure that project activities are tracked and evaluated according to the organization’s standards and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assist in the development and implementation of MEAL tools and systems for data collection and reporting.
- Conduct routine field visits to monitor project activities and gather data on outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
- Support in the administration of surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs).
- Ensure accurate data entry, cleaning, and storage of data in accordance with data protection guidelines.
Data Management and Reporting
- Support timely data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly MEAL reports.
- Assist in updating project databases and tracking performance indicators.
Accountability
- Support the rollout and management of feedback and complaint mechanisms (hotlines, help desks, suggestion boxes).
- Record and refer feedback to appropriate departments in line with accountability procedures.
- Ensure community members are aware of their rights and the organization’s commitments to accountability.
Learning and Documentation
- Assist in documentation of best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Participate in learning and reflection sessions at project and organizational levels.
- Contribute to the organization’s learning agenda and knowledge management processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a relatedfield.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in MEAL or related roles in a development or humanitarian context.
- Experience in field data collection and use of mobile data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK).
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques.
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local language(s) is an asset.
