Hope and Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF) is a National non – profit organization functioning since 2011 but was officially registered under the corporate affairs commission (CAC) of the federal government of Nigeria in the year 2016 with registration number RN: CAC/IT/:85536. HARAF has its head office in Yola and a sub-office in Michika LGA from where various implementations are carried out all over Adamawa state. We also have a field Office in Maiduguri and an operational office in Monguno which serves as a hub to our humanitarian interventions in Borno State. Finally, our field office in Damaturu sees to it that our implementations are successfully carried out all over Yobe State. The organization works in the Food Security and Livelihood, Protection (Child Protection/GBV), Education and Shelter/CCCM Thematic areas.
HARAF is currently implementing for World Food Programme (WFP) on Resilience of Rural Women and Adolescent Girls through Entrepreneurship, Livelihood Intervention Skills acquisition and Financial Literacy Training at Malkohi host community, Yola. HARAF is receiving applications for the following positions;
Position: M&E Assistant
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Experience: 1 year minimum

Scope of work.
Working under the supervision and guidance of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer, the M&E Assistant will be based in HARAF Head Office in Yola. The M&E Assistant will work closely with all program staff in the field to implement the HARAF/WFP M&E commitments, improve program quality through enhanced data management systems and processes. The position will support measurement in the Office. The Assistant will support the M&E officer in managing day to day M&E tasks arising in the Field Office and providing technical support to field teams to ensure effective implementation of projects.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist in routine data collection and entry for various interventions implemented in the field and ensure that complete, accurate, clean and consistent data is shared with the M&E Officer for data analysis and action planning.
- Ensure proper filing of M&E documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets among others
- Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported and address any anomalies identified
- Submit to the M&E Officer weekly and monthly updates on M& E activities conducted in the field
- With support from the M&E Officer, participate capacity building and mentorship activities for field staff in data collection and cleaning
- Keep the M&E database up to date and help program staff prepare periodic high-quality reports
- Assist program staff during survey planning and implementation especially preparing logistics needed, participating in data collection and cleaning
- Perform any other M&E tasks assigned by the M&E Officer or his/her supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements
- BSc or National Diploma in International Development, Social Sciences or related field with grounding in quantitative and qualitative research methods required;
At least 1 years working experience
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Database management and knowledge management experience required
- Demonstrated ability to use monitoring and evaluation findings for adaptive management; experience with rolling assessments and / or complexity-aware monitoring a plus;
- Strong presentation and training facilitation skills required;
- Strong computer literacy required; knowledge of SPSS and/or Stata a plus;
- Familiarity with issues related to livelihood in crisis and conflict-affected environments a plus;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders;
- Fluency in English required. Fluency in Hausa, Fulani or other local languages is highly desirable.
