JOB VACANCY: LOGISTIC ASSISTANT

DURATION: 3 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

GHIV Africa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistic Assistant to join our team. As a Logistic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our logistical operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes. You will work closely with our logistics team to coordinate shipments, manage inventory, and maintain records accurately. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining procurement files and tender opening processes.
  • Scan and maintain soft copies of documentation for finance.
  • Follow up with suppliers for prompt invoice submission.
  • Assist in staff training on procurement rules and processes at LGA level.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and track all procurement requests.
  • Assist in the preparation and amendment of contracts.
  • Conduct market searches for new suppliers.
  • Coordinate between supply chain and finance for vendor payments.
  • Conduct due diligence for suppliers, including reference checks and visits.
  • Record issued assets and ensured proper documentation.
  • Undertake regular stock inventories and maintained records of program items.
  • Supervise loading and offloading of delivery trucks and monitor pest control.
  • Assist in monitoring procurement and logistics expenses against budget allocations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • A team player
  • Ability to build strong relationship with colleagues and to prioritise work based on demand.
  • Good in the use of Microsoft package like excel, word and power point.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ND, HND, B.Sc. in relevant field with 1-2 years of humanitarian experience.
