Background:
The Restoration of Hope Initiative is a Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in 2012 and began operations in 2015 in the areas of education, protection, Nutrition, WASH, and livelihood. ROHI has helped over 300,000 children in the Northeast to have access to inclusive quality education by establishing infrastructure and boosting the capacity of educational institutions since its inception in 2012. ROHI specializes in education programming, as well as development programming and humanitarian assistance. The North East crisis has increased the number of individuals forced to relocate, hampered access to educational opportunities, heightened security concerns, and demanded the provision of life-saving services. In partnership, ROHI is partnering with Street Child Nigeria on EFECT project to provide quality education services, safeguarding, child protection and also ensuring their families have a means of livelihood to take care of basic needs and send their children to school. In line with this and her four-year strategies, ROHI seeks applicants that share our humanitarian objectives and have knowledge and experience in case management.
Summary of the Role
The livelihood officer is tasked with ensuring that the livelihood component of the project is implemented by ensuring that beneficiaries are able to start-up businesses and sustain means of livelihood established as a result of the organization’s support. The livelihood officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting of livelihood activities and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders. Responsibilities:
• Plan for the implementation of Education and livelihood project activities and monitoring in line with project design.
• Setting up alternative care arrangements by improving the livelihood capacity of vulnerable beneficiaries.
• Collaborate with the Protection and Education officers to conduct well-being assessments for beneficiaries at different locations.
• Train beneficiaries on the Family Business Scheme (FBS) and disburse grants.
• Conduct regular and periodic monitoring of businesses supported through the FBS.
• Support beneficiaries in setting up and maintaining businesses supported through the FBS.
• Supervises the livelihood caseworkers towards project deliverables.
• Write and submit weekly activity reports.
• Any other responsibility as instructed by the line manager.
Job Requirements
• B.Sc. in Business management or another related field
• Ability to work within a team
• Experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well.

Languages:
• Being fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is strongly desired.
