Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind  

Position: Nutrition Assistant
Job Type: Contract
Qualification:  Bachelor’s/ HND in degree in Public Health and other related field
Experience: 2 years’ experience in Nutrition project implementation
Location: Damboa, Borno state
Job Field: Non Profit

Job Summary:

The position holder will be responsible to Oversees IYCF, MIYCN and IMMAP  in Damboa

Duties and Responsibility

  • Create awareness and sensitize community on CMAM practices, IYCF, malnutrition and causes treatment of Malnutrition.
  • Participate in the screening of children 6-59 months, referral and follow up of malnourished

children at community level

  • Carry out sensitization activities for targeted communities about CMAM, IYCF with support

from MOH, community leaders and other key stakeholders

  • Ensure timely submission of weekly reports, monthly report and MUAC screening and  data report to nutrition officer for compilation
  • Organized and lead the formation of mother to mother and father to father support group for

IYCF with the support of the Nutrition Officer.

  • Conduct education sessions within the community on the importance of infant and young child feeding issues as and when they arise.
  • Conduct Tom Brown preparation sessions with lead mothers and caregivers alongside CNMs.
  • Conduct regular focus group discussion

Requirement:

  • Degree in Public health or relevant
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Implementation of Nutrition intervention programs.
  • Experience in community Management of Acute Malnutrition and key IYCF practices
  • Knowledge of nutritional surveillance and information system
  • Proven ability and express in planning and conducting training on Nutrition
  • Strong report writing and computer skills
  • Must be an Indigene of Damboa
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa, Kanuri and other language will be an added asset.
