IPTi Data collectors/Interviewers (Qualitative study) at Malaria Consortium


Malaria Consortium Nigeria is committed to tackling the large number of malaria cases and deaths in the country. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and other partners, we lead and support three major malaria control initiatives in the country:

Experience: 2 years experience.

Location of Assignment: Ebonyi and Osun state, Nigeria .

Duration: April- May 2021.

Malaria Consortium requires qualified Data collectors who will provide TA support in carrying out an assessment of HMIS and commodity logistics management system’s readiness for IPTi in Osun and Ebonyi and validate health facility listing to support project design.

Specific tasks for Interviewers

  • Participate in the training  activity on the use of the interview guide and interview process
  • Participate in the pre-test and finalization process for the interview guide
  • Collect data using the interview guide provided within the assigned areas or respondents.
  • Document all the findings in the provided interview guide.
  • Ensure the interviews are accurately recorded.
  • Compile and sort the recorded interview records as directed by the supervisor.
  • Transcribe all recorded (audio) interviews
  • Ensure anonymity of respondents and develop a relationship of trust and safe space during interview exercises with respondents.
  •  Identify and report any challenges faced that could affect the quality of the data.
  •  Take responsibility for project equipment
  • Report issues and challenges to the supervisor
  • Present the data to the supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Report to the supervisor before and after the day’s work for further direction.
  • Follow confidentiality and security procedures to ensure respondent privacy is protected
  • Submit all interview records (audio) and transcribed files to the supervisor(s).

Deliverables for Interviewers

  • Attendance list at training
  • Completed interviews records
  •   Transcription of interview records
  •  Daily report submitted to the supervisor

Person specification Interviewers(Data Collectors)

1.     Essential

  • OND/HND or a BSc in a relevant academic field
  • At least 2 years experience in collecting data for qualitative studies
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy to be able to work on electronic recording devices.
  • Good interpersonal and social skills.

Desired

  • Resident in either Ebonyi or Osun states
  • Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology.
  • Innovative, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to accomplish each day’s work with the supervisor by the end of each day
