Inventory & Asset Management Officer At MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices (MSIN)

MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices (MSIN) is a result-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide reproductive health care and allied services. MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices’ goal is to meet the needs of underserved Nigerians and dramatically improve access and use of a range of reproductive health services. MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is part of Marie Stopes International’s Global Partnership which is in over 37 countries worldwide and it operates in Nigeria through six service delivery channels.

POSITION: Inventory & Asset Management Officer
Location:  Abuja.

Overall Responsibility:

The Inventory and Asset Management Officer is responsible for accounting for MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices’ inventory and assets in line with asset management policies and perform inventory recording, documentation and reconciliation functions.   

Core Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Receive and verify all inventory upon arrival before entry into the store.
  • Handle the issuance of inventory, ensuring complete documentation in accordance with the Inventory Control Procedure.
  • Inspect all items on receipt and while in storage to detect any defects or damages.
  • Ensure proper documentation of stock movement, including receipts, issuances, and transfers to various locations, and capture these on the ERP.
  • Update monthly stock consumption reports for all cost centres within the region for issued stock.
  • Ensure accurate real-time posting of inventory consumptions on the ERP.
  • Organize and manage warehouse space in accordance with Qtrac guidelines for storage.
  • Conduct monthly stock counts, reconcile with bin cards, and report discrepancies.
  • Perform data entry of inventory movements for regional offices and field teams into Tally and SCRs.
  • Update bin cards for all inventory and store items with every stock movement.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Inventory and Asset Manager.

Assets Management

  • Coordinates physical assets verification across all regions in MSI, investigates discrepancies, identify root causes, proffer solutions to eliminate re-occurrence, and reports results accordingly
  • Ensures proper asset management and disposition of inactive and obsolete assets by tracking inventory, costs, movement, and disposal.
  • Perform expense management for asset disposals and maintains asset disposal records
  • Assists in developing asset management plans for all assets, assessing the need for renewals, new purchases, or disposals.
  • Responsible for maintenance and disposition of assets, including leasehold interest, insurance, advertising, and disposal
  • Make recommendations regarding asset disposition and disposal procedures to Inventory and Assets Management Manager
  • Collate and updates the Fixed Assets Register for all Regions.
  • Commercial Support
  • Issue SM products to sales representatives or distributors, ensuring fully signed delivery notes.
  • Provide additional support to the commercial team as need arises.
  • Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • First Degree (Second Class or higher) in Accounting or any other Finance related subject
  • 3-4 years post-NYSC experience in accounting or inventory management
  • Relevant professional qualification: completed or on-going
  • Knowledge of Tally ERP and QuickBooks or any accounting software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Office
  • Quick learning abilities
  • Ability to manage a high-level workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
