Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is a non-profit organization group of Academics, Environmentalists, Agricultural Experts, Health experts, Building Experts and community volunteers coming together with their different expertise with one voice and concern towards safeguarding the future of our climate. Currently, the organization has focused its attention on the North East of Nigeria with special emphasis on Borno, Adamawa and Yobe State. (BAY) state. FOURCi is currently intervening through the promotion climate resilience agriculture and livelihood using community-based approach.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hygiene Promoters (WASH Assistants)

Location: Bama and Gwoza

Slot: 8 Opening.

Contract Duration:4 Months

Start Date: ASAP

Job Description

  • Directly implement hygiene promotion activities in the communities; this includes household visits, hygiene awareness sessions and distribution of hygiene promotion materials.
  • Provide technical support and training for hygiene promoters, community volunteers, community leaders, kid’s hygiene clubs and WASH committees.
  • Directly manage the day to day hygiene promotion activities in the field locations.
  • Ensure that hygiene promotion activities meet agreed objectives within the timeframe.
  • Work on building of the capacity of community target groups on WASH emergency promotion, NFI distributions and other health educations
  • Plan and conduct different hygiene & sanitation promotion and health educations on different community meetings by using different hygiene promotion approaches
  • The HP assistant undertakes detail Hygiene and Sanitation need assessments.
  • Assist the HP officer in preparing of IEC Materials and monitor the distribution of IEC materials to be used at community level.
  • Ensure that the hygiene promotion activities in the communities are implemented in a timely and professional manner and in line with beneficiary needs.
  • Participate in daily monitoring and recording of Hygiene promotion activities including household visits, Group Hygiene sessions, Mass Hygiene awareness campaigns, NFI distributions and other Hygiene related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW HOW) EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND SKILLS:

  • National Diploma, HND, University Degree and a higher qualification in Law, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or any other relevant studies.
  • At least two years’work experience in a humanitarian context.
  • Good command of English both verbal and written.
  • Good personal and organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse groups of people based in multiple locations. • Willingness and ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours.
