Relief Rescue Initiative (RRI) is a non-governmental organization committed and active in community humanitarian and development projects. The primary target of RRI is on the less privileged, Marginalized and persons affected by insurgency and disasters in their struggle to obtain life and dignity in Areas of focus; WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Protection, Governance, Education, Women and Youth Empowerment.

Summary of Job:
The Hygiene Promoter is responsible to Promote, monitor, survey, and assess the target communities in the assigned area through daily field and community visits, and conduct surveys and visit in order to identify new participants to the Hygiene Promotion sessions, and Conduct hygiene promotion sessions in the field and communities. A monthly stipend of N20,000 shall be given. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote, monitor, survey, and assess the target communities in the assigned area through daily field and community visits.
Conduct surveys and visit in order to identify new participants to the Hygiene Promotion sessions, and Conduct hygiene promotion sessions in the field and communities.
Arrange thematic focus group discussions, awareness, and hygiene promotion sessions.
Conduct hygiene promotion sessions within communities and households.
Animate focus group, giving clear message on good hygiene practice.
Identify the most appropriate message regarding the target population, and working on it.
Evaluate the necessary material needed for a session/activity.
Participate in the identification of beneficiaries for the WASH activities (solid waste management, distribution of hygiene kits etc.) if requested.
Promote Hygiene to children to help them acquire safer hygiene behaviours.
Participate in hygiene campaign, doing shows at community level.
Act as a link between the organization and the beneficiaries;
Ensure all work is carried out as per the community needs and project standards.
Forging relationships with key people in the community, stakeholders and community leaders to ensure proper implementation.
Develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members.
Provide regular updates from the field to the Programme Officer.
Report any incidences related to protection of IDPs, host-communities and other vulnerable groups to the management.
Report security incidences in the field in a timely manner to the management.
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by Programme officer.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Atleast a Senior School Certificate is required additional certificate is an advantage.
Fluency in English and Hausa languages is required and an understanding of Kanuri Language is a plus;
Experience of collecting data at community level.
Computer literacy for entering data into database.
