The Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) is Africa’s first national institutionalized behavioural initiative. We support governments and stakeholders in making behaviorally informed decisions and generating evidence for impactful interventions in key areas: Global Health, Education, Innovative Digital Solutions, Agriculture, Climate and Food Security, Poverty, Livelihoods, and Jobs, Governance, Gender Inclusion
Initiated by the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in 2017, the PIC was launched in October 2021 after the success of the interim Policy Innovation Unit (PIU). Job Description
- The Human Resource Intern will assist the HR department in various functions, gaining hands-on experience in HR practices within the NGO sector.
- This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration, contributing to the organisation’s mission by supporting its human capital needs.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding Support:
- Assist in drafting job descriptions and posting job advertisements.
- Screen resumes and coordinate interview schedules.
- Support the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing induction materials and ensuring proper documentation.
Employee Relations:
- Help maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in organising employee engagement activities and events.
- Support the resolution of employee queries and issues under the guidance of the HR Manager.
Performance Management:
- Assist in tracking and coordinating performance appraisals and feedback processes.
- Help maintain records of employee performance evaluations and related documentation.
- Support the analysis of performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
HR Administration:
- Assist in maintaining HR databases and HRIS systems, ensuring data is up-to-date.
- Help prepare HR-related reports and documents, including staff handbooks and policy updates.
- Provide administrative support during HR meetings, including taking minutes and following up on action items.
Training and Development:
- Assist in coordinating training sessions and workshops for employees.
- Support the development and distribution of training materials.
- Track employee participation in training programmes and maintain relevant records.
Compliance and Policy Implementation:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with organisational HR policies and procedures.
- Help monitor changes in employment laws and update policies accordingly.
- Support the HR Manager in implementing new HR initiatives and policies.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Salary
N70,000 – N150,000 / Month.
