The scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by HR Consultant – Market Survey on Remuneration, to Technical Advice Connect LTD/GTE (TAConnect), a non-profit organization registered and based in Nigeria to bring innovative solutions to the provision of Technical Assistance (TA) services to states in Nigeria.

About Us:

Technical Advice Connect LTD/GTE (TAConnect) is an innovative Technical Assistance (TA) delivery platform, conceptualized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to respond to State TA priorities to promote sustainable improvements in State Primary Healthcare (PHC) systems’ performance and increase the uptake of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) services.

Working with the State Ministries of Health (SMoH), State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (SPHCDAs), and Local Government Health Authorities (LGHAs), TAConnect is supporting ten (10) states to improve the management systems and operation efficiency of PHCs. Furthermore, the organization is tasked with helping the 10 states to adopt, implement, and sustain GANC/PNC as a health systems intervention that can serve as a veritable platform to improve the uptake and quality of well-integrated RMNCH services.

Also, TAConnect under its new investment, will be supporting states to leverage the G-ANC/PNC model as a veritable platform to layer a suite of contextualized RMNCAH+N high-impact interventions leveraging a strong data-driven and evidence-based framework that will ramp uptake of key services such as family planning, maternal and childhood immunization, malaria in pregnancy, nutrition and newborn care service to improve maternal and newborn outcomes.

Job Description:

TAConnect is seeking an experienced and analytical HR Consultant specialized in researching and analyzing initiatives aimed at mitigating the economic depreciation of salaries. This role involves conducting a comprehensive market survey to identify, evaluate, and recommend strategic measures adopted by organizations to address the challenges posed by salary devaluation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Market Research: Conduct extensive research to identify trends, policies, and initiatives adopted by diverse NGOs in Nigeria, to counteract economic salary depreciation.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze collected data to understand the effectiveness and impact of various initiatives implemented by organizations.
  • Recommendation Development: Formulate actionable recommendations and strategies based on research findings to assist in curbing salary depreciation challenges.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to present findings, recommendations, and strategies.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation outlining the survey findings and proposed initiatives.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years specializing in salary analysis, Remuneration, or related fields. Experience in the NGO sector will be an added advantage.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of economic factors impacting salaries and experience in researching and implementing initiatives to counter salary depreciation.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis, interpretation, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Work Approach: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment and engage effectively with stakeholders.

Working Conditions

The consultancy is typically 80% remote and 20% physical. Physical meetings may be required throughout the consultancy, especially during the planning and presentation phases, in consultation with the TAConnect team.

  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to analyze the gathered data thoroughly.
  • Draw conclusions from the analyzed data, identify trends, and extract actionable insights.

Reporting Phase

5 days

  • Document findings, and insights in a clear and organized manner
  • Review the report for accuracy and completeness. Incorporate feedback if necessary

Presentation & Recommendation Phase

5 days

  • Develop concise presentations summarizing the research findings and recommendations.
  • Share findings and recommendations, with TAConnect stakeholders, answer queries, and discuss the implications and potential strategies based on the research.

Supervision

The HR Consultant will be supervised by The Director, Finance, Admin, and Operations, in collaboration with the HR & Operations Specialist.
