Background
Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a woman- led organization born out of passion for the wellbeing of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of the vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. Currently the organization has focused its attention on the Northeast of Nigeria with special emphasis in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states (BAY states) due to the decade old crises. COWACDI intervenes through community-based approach in addressing humanitarian and development needs since its establishment in 1998, these include in Protection, Peace Building, Housing Land & Property (HLP), Nonfood Items (NFI), Livelihood, WASH, Nutrition, Livelihood, amongst others. These interventions have directly benefited thousands of children, women, men, girls and boys of all groups. Determined to expand her interventions to reach more vulnerable people in conflict affected regions. COWACDI operates with full respect to humanitarian laws, concrete policies and principles of international standard such as humanity, Do no harm, impartiality, neutrality, independency and accountability to affected population and zero Tolerance to Fraud and related activities.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Contractual Arrangement: External
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Roles/Responsibilities
- Support effective grant management and ensure full compliance with donors, state and organization regulations.
- Review donor agreements, budgets and project documentation to ensure alignment with internal and external policies.
- Track project deliverables, expenditures, and reporting deadlines across all grants.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of timely, accurate, and high-quality donor reports (narrative and financial).
- Facilitate grant start-up and close-out meetings with relevant teams.
- Conduct regular internal compliance checks and identify potential risks or gaps.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized grant files for audit and donor review purposes.
Tasks:
- Maintain a detailed grant tracker with key deadlines and milestones.
- Support program and finance teams in developing grant budgets and forecasts.
- Review partner sub-award agreements and monitor compliance.
- Prepare grant modification requests, extensions, or budget revisions when needed.
- Liaise with donors on reporting, compliance clarifications, and document submissions.
- Support internal and external audit processes and ensure all recommendations are implemented.
Other tasks:
- Provide training and capacity-building sessions for staff on donor compliance and grant management procedures.
- Develop and update compliance tools, templates, and guidance notes.
- Support the development of new funding proposals and concept notes.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and grant management systems.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Minimum ofBachelor’s degree in a relevant field in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in project management, grants, or compliance roles.
- Strong understanding of donor regulations (e.g., UN, EU, FCDO, GIZ).
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural settings.

Language required:
Fluency in oral and written English is required. Hausa and Native Language of the area would be an added advantage.
