All for Peace and Dignity (APADE) is an international not-for-profit, non-governmental organization,
registered under Canadian law in 2014 and Nigeria government in 2021. Our mission is to work with
vulnerable people in poverty and distress to improve their well-being and together create a positive change.
APADE’s activities focus on emergency, early recovery, resilience, and sustainable development for all
people in dire need, regardless of religious, political, or ethnic affiliation, while advocating for peace and
dignity for all. Our Project and activities revolve in response to the changing needs of the community we
serve to contribute to the change that impacting life positively of vulnerable people. We are highly

implementation and demonstrates accountability and transparency in the delivery of high-quality and

local actions and solutions to vulnerable people and those living with disabilities remain at the center of our
interest. APADE takes appropriate measures to ensure that their specific needs are taken into account in
programming activities. We, monitor, evaluate, and measure program impact while remaining prepared for
early warning systems. Along with our focus on humanitarian interventions, we also keep improving the
way we serve vulnerable people and communities. In this way, we guarantee continuous program
improvement, and also, we deliver accountability and transparency to our donors and all stakeholders.
APADE in collaboration with WFP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MASTER CARD FOUNDATION, is
to implement a project in Northeast Nigeria (Adamawa State). The aim is to strengthen local food systems
and create job opportunities for young women and men through an inclusive agribusiness value chain. This
initiative aligns with WFP’s objectives of strengthening local food systems and creating job opportunities
for young women and men, transforming lives, and enhancing private sector engagement to achieve zero
hunger, by promoting financial inclusion and empowering youth economically.
In this context, APADE seeks to recruit a suitable, qualified, and dedicated Gender and Protection Officer
to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all program activities are
designed and implemented with a gender-sensitive approach, promoting protection for all participants,
especially vulnerable groups, integrating gender considerations across all project components, engaging
with stakeholders at various levels, and ensuring that the needs and voices of young women and men are
effectively represented and addressed.

Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension

Starting Date: 1st February 2025

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    o Ensure gender perspectives are integrated into all aspects of the project’s planning,
    implementation, and monitoring.
    o Conduct gender analysis to understand the different needs and constraints of young
    women and men in the agribusiness sector.
    o Develop training materials and conduct workshops focused on gender equality,
    protection, and empowerment for young women and men involved in agribusiness.
    o Facilitate sessions that enhance participants’ skills in advocating for their rights and
    accessing available resources.
    o Collaborate with local communities to raise awareness about gender issues and
    promote inclusive participation in agribusiness activities.
    o Establish and strengthen partnerships with local women and youth organizations to
    support project objectives.
    o Develop gender-sensitive indicators to assess project impact on both women and men.
    o Regularly monitor and evaluate the implementation of gender initiatives, compiling
    reports to inform stakeholders and guide future strategies.
    o Implement protection strategies and protocols that ensure the safety and well-being of
    all participants, particularly vulnerable groups.
    o Provide support and guidance on protection issues and referrals for individuals in need
    of assistance.
    o Advocate for policies that promote gender equality and the empowerment of young
    women and men within the agribusiness sector.
    o Engage with local government and stakeholders to influence decision-making
    processes that affect gender issues.
  • EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
    o BSc/HND in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    o Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in gender and protection services,
    preferably in NGO or INGO.
    o The candidate must be fluent in Haussa
  • SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
    o Strong understanding of gender mainstreaming and protection frameworks, as well as
    agribusiness development.
    o Familiarity with local socio-economic conditions in Northeast Nigeria, particularly as
    they relate to gender dynamics.
    o Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills suitable for engaging
    diverse stakeholders.
    o Strong analytical skills to conduct gender analysis and evaluate program impact.

    o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
    o Understanding of and respect for local cultural contexts, fostering trust and
    collaboration with community members.
    o Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and emerging needs in the community and
    within the project scope.
    o Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and collaborate with
    various stakeholders for enhanced program impact.
    o Good English skills (speaking and writing)
    o Speaking of Haussa is a must
    o Strongly adhere to and respect the organization’s PSEA zero-tolerance policy and
    Codes of Conduct.
