Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support is a leading girls and women’s rights organization, which promotes gender equality, reaching the most vulnerable, and promoting meaningful inclusion. The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led organization that aims to prevent and protect women and girls against all forms of gender-based violence, abuse, and discrimination. Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support advocates and influences policies in favour of women and girls. ZEGCAWIS creates awareness and sensitizes communities on Sexual and reproductive health rights, prevention of sexual and all forms of gender based violence information, and response services. ZEGCAWIS has been in existence since 2016, it became officially registered with cooperate affairs commission in Nigeria in 2018.

We are looking for experienced and dedicated staff to fill in the following :
JOB TITLE: GBV/PSS Assistant
CONTRACT DURATION: 5 months.
OCATION: Maiduguri
DEADLINE: 6th January 2023
Purpose
The GBV/PSS Assistant will be responsible for technical guidance, and supervision of all ZEGCAWIS community and Safe Space facilitators working on GBV/PSS activities under MDM-F supported interventions.
Dimension of Role
Her duties which includes but not limited to:
- Organize capacity building Trainings on GBV/MHPSS for community and safe space facilitators and ZEGCAWIS team members in collaboration with MDM.
- Promoting mental health and psychosocial support within affected communities.
- Preparing an appropriate plan of action with clearly identified goals and activities.
- Develop an evidenced based psychoeducation and skill building activities
- Documenting activities through case notes and data entry.
- Collaborating with supervisor to provide crisis assessment.
- Assisting with evaluation of current program services and explore ways to introduce new service opportunities.
- Attending trainings and conference calls addressing mental health program development and other refugee mental health and psychosocial support related topics.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the team to provide holistic services in the context of the resettlement and integration process.
- Work and collaborate with partners to develop key Messages for the Creation of awareness and sensitization on GBV and its consequences on physical, mental and psychological wellbeing.
- Work with community and Safe space facilitators to Develop and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan to partner.
- Provide Technical support for Mass awareness and sensitization on Gender based violence prevention information and response as well as Mental health and psychosocial support services and activities.
- Collaborate and Work will partner and other key actors to ensure all referrals to MDM facilities, Safe Space and other partners are being attended and provide those in need with the needed Support.
- Work with community and Safe facilitators to Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to partner.
- Support community facilitators to Identify passionate community and Religious leaders to serve as GBV/MHPSS champions in their communities
- Support community facilitators to Establish a functional community based GBV and MHPSS Response committee
- Support community facilitators to Form aged and gender -based groups to serve as champions
- Participate in GBV and MHPSS technical working groups at LGA and State Level.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc/ HND in social science related courses with at least 2-year experience working on GBV/PSS related project.
- Diploma in social work or related courses with at least 3 years’ experience working on GBV/PSS including management of Safe space.
- Experience in community engagement and Civic Education is an added advantage

- Team player, clear communicator, flexible, network-builder, ability to handle pressure well under minimal supervision, and a commitment to ZEGCAWIS core values and gender
Languages:
Ability to write and speak English with Knowledge of Kanuri, and Hausa is a MUST
Ability to speak Shuwa is an Added advantage
