Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004.

NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: GBV / GHR Case Manager

Locations: Edo, Ondo and Oyo
Employment Type: Contract
Context of Intervention: Gender Based Violence/Gender and Human Right
Supervision: Network of People Living with HIV in Nigeria (NEPWHAN)
End Date: December 2024

Job Roles / Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of psycho-social care, trauma counseling, first aid, GBV referral pathways and relay information on available GBV services to survivors in 12 States
  • Responsible for daily operations of the call center office to enable survivors to access care services.
  • Responsible for follow up with survivors to a logical conclusion for service provision.
  • Receive calls from the 6222 line and other helplines and refer survivors for uptake of already mapped services in the State.
  • Work with the CBO during outreach to provide first line support, manage GBV cases and document services provided.
  • Work closely with the existing Helplines and HotlineCentersand other structures in the state by building effective referral system in the course of responding to the cases reported.
  • Participation in the GBV meetings at State level(CBOs Quarterly Outreaches, monthly GBV review meetings etc).
  • Conduct community sensitization campaigns (Small Group Discussions with Artisans, Women Groups, Associations, existing community structures, and religious gatherings) on GBV.
  • Track, document, collate and report on indicators for GHR interventions and services provided to community members in appropriate tools.
  • Support public awareness about IPV/GBV.
  • Disseminate the existing directory of available services to increase public awareness about the existence of the 6222 toll-free and other helplines in the States.
  • Track, document and report gender and human rights related services provided to community members.

Education / Eligibility Criteria
The GBV Case Manager is to possess the under listed:

  • At least a Diploma / NCE in Communication, Social Sciences or other relevant fields with experience
  • Experience in working on HIV/TB/Malaria intervention and experienced in dealing with key and vulnerable populations.
  • Must be resident in the State of application.
  • Must be able to speak fluently, read and write in English.
  • Ability to communicate in English and local dialect of the people.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Writing, presentation/facilitation, and computer skills
  • Sensitivity and adaptability toculture, gender, religion, race and nationality.
  • Processing documents including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
