WHAT DO WE DO …
INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITIES(SI) is an association of’international humanitarian aid which, for more than 40 years, has been providing relief to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating, eating, eating, S’abriter. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unhealthy’, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions an expertise in the field of’access to drinking’water,’sanitation and the promotion of hygiene but also in that, essential, food security and means of’. Present in about twenty countries, SI – 2000 teams in total composed of’expatriates, national staffs, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers…intervene with professionalism and commitment in respect of cultures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You have a strong interest in international relations and want to address these issues in a concrete way, from the angle of the’action humanitarian ? You are autonomous, have editorial and synthesis skills, and enjoy performing versatile tasks: writing summary notes, writing, participation in events and research on geopolitical themes related to the’action humanitarian, management of’a website and its communication etc.
It is not necessary to’ to have previous experience in the humanitarian environment but to’ be motivated.
Your work will be based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITIES INTERNATIONAL and telecommuting. You will assist the founder of the’association in the context of his missions : advocacy to raise awareness of the humanitarian world among policy makers and the public (including through its Humanitarian Challenges website) ; monitoring humanitarian crises, including, the fight for’access to drinking’water and’sanitation … You will support its action, through your relevant research and your participation in various meetings related to the humanitarian’action – Alain Boinet is an honorary member of the Board of’ of Solidarity International and several other organizations (French Partnership for L’Eau (PFE), Think Tank (re)sources, Veolia Foundation, France,…) as well as the Humanitarian Consultation Group to the Ministry of’Europe and Foreign Affairs: Crisis and Support Centre.
Website management « Humanitarian Challenges » and humanitarian communication.
- Monthly publication of the online journal (reading and publication of articles, realization of’interviews, letter of’information, layout of the site, search for photos, translation, …).
- Daily site management « Humanitarian Challenges » : social media management, fundraising follow-up, reporting, statistics follow-up.
- Publication of the second Study on French humanitarian NGOs at’international, promotion and dissemination. Management of the subscriber database.
Research
- Research on the’ humanitarian ecosystem, its environment, its actors and partners.
- Research to support the advocacy of’Alain Boinet (access to drinking’eau, funding for’ humanitarian aid).
- Realization of the’ quantitative and qualitative study of Humanitarian Challenges on the’evolution of’a panel of international, French and foreign humanitarian’ongs (reading and understanding annual reports of’ONG).
- Monitoring humanitarian crises (Armenia, Ukraine, Sahel, Syria, Afghanistan). Writing : briefing notes, meeting report, conference, webinar.
Other activities
- Assistance in the preparation of the various events related to the’action humanitariane in which Alain Boinet participates and writing of the minutes : forum, colloquium, meeting.
The tasks described in this announcement are likely D’EVOLUER depending on the international news and current projects.
YOUR PROFILE
- Education : Bac+3/4/5 in International Relations, Geopolitics, Political Science.
- Languages: current english. Another language is a plus.
- Computer skills : Mastery of the Office Pack (Word, PPT, Excel in particular). Knowledge of WordPress is a plus.
- Qualities required: autonomy, good organization, responsiveness, editorial and synthesis qualities, efficiency.
IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
- Internship based in the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), metro Mairie de Clichy
- Intern with compulsory internship agreement.
- Gratification : 4,90 euros/hour
- The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (Average 1 month = 154h, or 22 days of 7h/day)
- Public transport supported at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Tickets restaurant at 8,90 € /daily internship, with participation of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL at 60%
CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE INTERNSHIP
- To understand the major issues and challenges of international humanitarian assistance’.
- Develop knowledge on the topics of’study chosen with Alain Boinet (your research aims to feed articles, speeches).
- Learn how to manage a website and promote it.
- Participate in meetings related to the’humanitarian action, understand our role in the consultation with the public authorities.
- Live the’action humanitariane within Solidarity International and discover the headquarters of’une NGO humanitariane in its daily activity.
- Participate in a training course for humanitarian workers to prepare for the start in the field.
