The Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC) aims to support Nigerian entrepreneurs and SMEs in developing profitable and context-specific solutions to climate change, particularly the deployment of solar off-grid technologies. The NCIC provides holistic, country-driven support to accelerate the development, deployment and transfer of locally relevant climate and clean energy technologies. The NCIC will provide incubation, capacity building services and financing to Nigerian entrepreneurs and new ventures that are developing innovative solutions in Off-Grid Solar sector, Renewable Energy, Water/Waste Management and Agribusiness to address climate change challenges. But, particularly in this first year, the NCIC will be focused on supporting innovative businesses in the Off-Grid Solar sector.

The Finance Officer will support the broad NCIC accounting and finance activities, which may include work in any of the areas of internal, corporate, and external engagement. The tasks include contribution to NCIC overall activities and partnerships through the following areas of work:

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage finance operational systems, processes and policies -specifically, better
  • management reporting, information flow and management, business process and
  • organisational planning
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward
  • operational excellence
  • Management of NCIC budget in coordination with the COO
  • Invoicing to funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service
  • Implementation of NCIC Tax processes
  • Organisation of fiscal documents
  • Be responsible for Accounting policy and governance
  • Cash flow management and liquidity (specifically relating to Company Finance Policy)
  • Oversee day to day processing of accounts
  • Reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfil tax related requirements

Experience

  • At least 3 years in Financial & Operations Management
  • Strong background and work in Development Finance with industry standard
