Finance Apprentice At Danish Refugee Council

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide adequate assistance with a rights-based approach for refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees and migrants. DRC has been present in Colombia since 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Action against Mines (HMA) and providing support to the population affected by the conflict in the south of the country, but 2018 expands its operations in response to the Venezuelan crisis. DRC Colombia is currently implementing a humanitarian response focused on protection for Venezuelan and Colombian refugees and migrants returned in Colombian cities such as Riohacha, Barranquilla and Bogotá,currently it also incorporates activities in the municipality of Barbacoas and in Norte de Santander.

About practice:

Support financial operations to comply with internal, external requirements and legal regulations, according to DRC and donor regulations.

Responsibilities:

Accounting Management and Treasury

  • Support in the preparation and accounting payment to providers and / or service providers through causes, checks (output vouchers) and/or electronic transfers in DRC accounting systems (ERP DRC Dynamics).
  • Generate the accounting record of all transactions carried out by the entity in the DRC Colombia accounting system (DRC Dynamics),
  • Support in the preparation of information for accounting closings in DRC Dynamics
  • Support in preparing accounting reports related to banks, savings banks, income according to requirements,
  • Keep track of advances monthly in accordance with DRC procedures

Audit management

  • Support audit responses, if required.
  • Accounting documentation
  • Bring the file of the supports, accounting vouchers, extracts, bank books and cash
  • Review that the accounting supports comply with the requirements and procedures, legal, accounting and tax.

Document Control Management

  • Support in the consolidation of the physical and digital archive at the national level (50% total dedication).
  • Reports
  • Help collect, review, correct, and archive all donor financial progress reports
  • Support the preparation of financial reports to donors and internal

Minimum experience required and skills:

Without experience.

Studies:

University student in the areas of finance, accounting, financial engineering, Technologist in the area of finance, accounting or administrative SENA.

Languages:

  • Basic English – desirable
