Still I Rise is an international NGO with a humanitarian mission to provide protection and quality education to migrants and underprivileged youth. In Lucero Bajo, We operate the Still I Rise International School of Bogotá, Colombia. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, deliver and facilitate dynamic, active, and creative English Language lessons on a weekly basis, for diverse classes of students aged 10-15. Create enhanced opportunities for real-life applications of concepts using available resources and project based learning.
- Assume the leadership role or contribute to other teachers with coordination roles in various cross-school activities.
- Review and monitor the progress of all students and identify their individual learning needs. Differentiate instruction to meet students’ needs, providing extra support to students who are below grade level.
- Sensitively and appropriately provide care to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Handle urgent situations with consummate professionalism and in accordance with our Discipline Policy and Safeguarding Policy, utilizing the school’s support network as necessary liaising with School Counsellor and Child Protection & Safeguarding Team.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, recording and reporting grades and performance.
- Attend and participate in regular professional development activities.
- Help our school excel with your participation and leadership in community engagement, competitions, school trips and other activities, contributing to the development and leadership of our extracurricular programmes.
- Under the supervision of the Head of Teaching and Learning, provide feedback on quality and wellbeing to ensure programmes are designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to maximize positive impact on vulnerable children.
- Train and lead our futsal team, which practices on Saturdays, both male and female, and involve the team in inter-school and community competitionsESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience in teaching, preferably the International Baccalaureate curriculum will be considered an added advantage; alternatively, ability to demonstrate the “IB Profile” attributes

- Bachelors in Education or equivalent ENGLISH Teaching experience
- Full professional proficiency in English Language, both verbal and written
- Completion of DBS/CRB/Background check/certificate of good conduct;

- Ability to mentor students on a daily basis;
- Commitment and willingness to work in a challenging and fast changing environment;
- Curiosity, ambition, willingness to create and experiment new teaching techniques;
- Determined team player.

RESPONSABILIDADES CLAVE:
- Planificar, impartir y facilitar clases dinámicas, activas y creativas de idioma ingles semanalmente para clases diversas de estudiantes de 10 a 15 años. Crear oportunidades para la aplicación práctica de los conceptos usando los recursos disponibles y el aprendizaje basado en proyectos.
- Asume el rol de liderazgo o contribuye con otros profesores en roles de coordinación en diversas actividades inter-escolares.
- Revisar y monitorear el progreso de los estudiantes, identificando sus necesidades individuales de aprendizaje. Diferenciar la instrucción para adaptarse a estas necesidades, brindando apoyo adicional a los estudiantes que estén por debajo del nivel esperado.
- Proporcionar cuidado de manera sensible y adecuada a estudiantes de entornos desfavorecidos. Manejar situaciones urgentes con el máximo profesionalismo, de acuerdo con nuestra Política de Disciplina y la Política de Protección y Salvaguarda Infantil, utilizando la red de apoyo escolar según sea necesario en colaboración con el Consejero Escolar y el Equipo de Protección Infantil.
- Realizar evaluaciones formativas y sumativas regularmente, registrando y reportando calificaciones y desempeño.
- Asistir y participar en actividades de desarrollo profesional de manera regular.
- Contribuir al éxito de nuestra escuela participando y liderando actividades de compromiso comunitario, competencias, excursiones escolares y otras actividades, contribuyendo al desarrollo y liderazgo de nuestros programas extracurriculares.
- Bajo la supervisión del Director de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje, proporcionar retroalimentación sobre la calidad y bienestar para asegurar que los programas estén diseñados, implementados, monitoreados y evaluados para maximizar el impacto positivo en los niños vulnerables.
- Entrenar y liderar nuestro equipo de fútbol sala, tanto masculino como femenino, que practica los sábados, e involucrar al equipo en competencias interescolares y comunitarias.
CRITERIOS ESENCIALES:
- Experiencia docente, preferiblemente en el currículo del Bachillerato Internacional (IB); alternativamente, la capacidad de demostrar los atributos del “Perfil IB” [https://www.ibo.org/benefits/learner-profile/, en particular ser “audaces”, “de mente abierta” y “reflexivos”.
- Licenciatura en Educación o equivalente en experiencia en docencia de idioma INGLÉS
- Certificados académicos o profesionales.
- Dominio profesional completo del inglés, tanto oral como escrito.
- Completar una verificación de antecedentes/ certificado de buena conducta.
- Excelentes habilidades interpersonales, de comunicación y organización.
- Capacidad para orientar a los estudiantes diariamente.
- Compromiso y disposición para trabajar en un entorno desafiante y en constante cambio.
- Curiosidad, ambición y disposición para crear y experimentar con nuevas técnicas de enseñanza.
- Jugador(a) de equipo determinado(a).

- Experiencia enseñando a estudiantes con bajo rendimiento académico.
- Experiencia trabajando con migrantes y poblaciones vulnerables.
