Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) is an American non-profit NGO whose objective is agricultural and economic development. CNFA helps small producers improve their food security through new agricultural practices, the introduction of new varieties, the diversification of production, storage, the development of farmers’ and herders’ organizations, and the market linkages.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Courier / Driver – (529)
Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time
General Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Accountant and Administration Officer, the driver’s mission is to:
- Driving the official vehicle assigned;
- Drive safely, carefully and respect traffic rules (Highway Code);
- Check that the vehicle and related parts are up to date and comply with the legislation in force in the country and notify the Data Controller if necessary;
- Carry out the project errands, collect and distribute mail or any other document as well as certain administrative procedures if necessary;
- Ensure the travel of office staff as part of official outings;
- Welcome staff and official visitors to the airport and facilitate immigration, police and customs formalities if necessary;
- Ensure that all the formalities provided for by the regulations are completed in the event of an accident;
- Record official travel, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil checks, lubrication, etc., in the vehicle tracking sheet;
- Keep vehicle tracking sheets up to date and have them stamped by your supervisor;
- Ensure that the vehicle entrusted to it is kept in good condition;
- Keep the vehicle clean – exterior and interior – in all circumstances;
- Ensure the daily maintenance of the vehicle in his charge, control oil, water, battery, brakes, tires etc; and
- Notify your supervisor of periodic overhaul and maintenance situations.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
- Hold a valid B, C, D driving license;
- Have at least the secondary level;
- Professional experience of at least 8 years as a driver, of which at least 5 preferably in an international organization;
- Know the road network of Nigeria;
- Be courteous and discreet;
- Ability to work under the constraints of deadlines and results by demonstrating initiative, dynamism, and pro-activity;
- Know how to fill in the vehicle tracking sheets or logbook;
- Have a good notion in mechanics;
- Strong written and oral communication skills; and
- Be able to make frequent trips within the country.
