Job Title: Cook

Job Description
- Under the direct supervision of Premises Maintenance Officer in Mubi, the Cook is responsible for purchasing food supplies for the sub-delegation kitchen and delivering high-quality and timely cooking services at ICRC premises.
- S/he handles the cleaning and housekeeping of the sub-delegation kitchen, adhering to fundamental hygiene principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepares meals maintaining a high standard of food quality and service.
- Provide diversified quality of food taking into consideration health and diversity of staff.
- Ensures minimum food waste (used older items first) orders/purchases and manage appropriate stocks of food and non-food (cooking gas etc.)
- Submits menu planned for the week.
- Ensures the kitchen/eating area as well as the cooking equipment is well cleaned, and maintained in good hygienic, clean, and safe condition.
- Knows and strictly applies basic hygiene principles.
- Removes all plates, and cutlery from the tables at the end of a meal period.
- Thoroughly washes dishes and pots after each use.
- Shows adaptability towards requests for special meals and preferences.
- Informs his/her hierarchical superior of any problems (broken/faulty material).
Education and Experience Required
- Vocational or secondary education
- Similar work experience for at least one year
- English speaking and knowledge of Hausa
- Previous experience in similar roles with INGOs or similar environments will be valued.
- Applicants should have a Nigerian nationality or hold a working permit.
