OVERVIEW

Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support is a leading girls and women’s rights organization, which promotes gender equality, reaching the most vulnerable, and promoting meaningful inclusion. The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led organization that aims to preventing and protecting women and girls against all forms of gender-based violence, abuse, and discrimination. ZEGCAWIS has been in existence since 2016, it became officially registered with cooperate affairs commission in Nigeria 2018.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated Community Volunteers for our quest to contain the intensive outbreak of cholera through hygiene promotion activities, distributing Cholera support kits for Women/Lactating Mothers and adolescent girls in partnership with Care International in Borno State

Location:    MMC, JERE, KONDUGA LGA, Borno State
Position:     Community Volunteer (15 positions) 
Duration:       10 days

Specific Responsibilities:

  • S/He will undertake health activities including hygiene promotion campaigns, distributions at the community level.
  • Develop daily workplan in collaboration with supervisor to effectively carry out cholera support intervention.
  • Provide support to implement high quality cholera prevention support activities with primary focus on hygiene promotion campaigns and distribution activities
  • Submit completed reports and other equipment used in fieldwork to the supervisor
  • Recognize and give account by provide useful feedback from the beneficiaries
  • The community volunteer will support the project team and others to carry out fieldwork and other activities, which may be required for the program’s functioning and strategy
  • Mobilizing and educating the beneficiaries in communities, as well as providing important feedback on programs field activities
  • Be a good representative of ZEGCAWIS during the duration of H/Her contract
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

Minimum Standards are:

  • Senior Secondary Certificate or its equivalent
  • Previous Experience in NGO setting is an added Advantage
  • Able to write and knowledgeable in data collation and summation.
  • Fluency in English, Kanuri/Shuwa /Hausa
  • Able to write reports and meet datelines
  • Vacancy closes 11th October 2021
