Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF) is a non-governmental organization dully registered with Nigerian government through Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO: 91613).
Existing since October 2016, AHSF focuses on improving the quality of life of vulnerable population across communities in North East Nigeria. AHSF operates both in emergency and developmental context and have its program principally rooted in identifying gaps that affects population or increases vulnerability of population and bridging those gaps through resource base planning and implementation.

Job Title: Community Engagement Volunteer
Number of openings: 2 (1 per location)
Location: Biu 1. & Rann 1.

Overall responsibilities
The Community Engagement assistant is an advisory position for AHSF Nigeria program designed to promote community awareness, visibility, advocacy and in Biu & Rann Borno state through capacity development of local / community representatives’ local institutions, stakeholders.
The community engagement assistant will ensure that gaps identified are covered; acceptance of essence of project is well understood by participants / host community, strengthening trust and collaboration between local securities and implementing partner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities and tasks of the Community Engagement Assistant are the following:
- Assist in the management and implementation of local community partnerships and local activities in the communities we work.
- Participate in advocacy meetings, group discussions, assessing impact of project implementation.
- Strategic guidance and technical support during implementation.
- Identify capacity gaps in terms of skills, knowledge attitude and practice of participants.
- Ensure good sensitization messages of program activities.
- Ensure a clear sensitization message is passed a crossed to participant.
- Ensure technical soundness of program activities and achievement of program outputs and outcomes in line with the approved work plan through the day-to-day planning, coordination and implementation of activities.
- Ensure transparency and accountability, community outreach and consultation methods; ethics and professionalism.
- Ensure the technical work undertaken across the project is in line with international good practice and adapted to the local context in Nigeria.
- Raise visibility of NHF-funded program through sharing best practices and well-developed communication materials.
- Participate with M&E team in supervision of data collection for nutrition and health assessments.
- Serve as catalyst of changing policies, program, and perception; promoting SBCC Social behavioral change and communication.
- Ensure accountability of supplies in communities.
Qualification:
Diploma In Social Sciences, SSCE.
Work with prog ram teams to ensure AHSF information on program activities is shared within LGAs and provide for beneficiary feedback in line with relevant guidelines and frameworks.
- Support the program team in facilitating the process of setting up Complaint Response Mechanism at Ward/ LGA level and handling complaint/ feedback.
- Work closely with monitoring and evaluation team.
- Treat beneficiaries with dignity and apply UNICEF Code of Ethics and Conduct, the UN Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in the field, including sensitizing Field Staffs and vendors/agents on such principles
