The Women in Business Forum (WiBFo) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting businesswomen in Nigeria. As a member-based networking business alliance, WiBFo works with diverse stakeholders to create an enabling business environment for women-led enterprises and cooperatives, particularly in the agriculture sector.
WiBFo serves as a State Apex Organization, providing financial services to underserved and unserved populations. Additionally, it acts as an aggregator, facilitating market linkages for small-scale food entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers (SHFs). Through its initiatives, WiBFo empowers women entrepreneurs, strengthens cooperative structures, and promotes inclusive growth in agri-food systems.

Project Overview
The RISE Project seeks to empower women and youth by creating 8,000 decent and sustainable jobs in Nigeria’s agri-food sector. The project promotes resilience, inclusivity, and economic empowerment through cooperative development, capacity building, and market-driven approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and visibility strategy aligned with the RISE Project’s goal of creating 8,000 decent jobs in Nigeria’s agri-food sector.
- Ensure consistent use of RISE branding and donor visibility guidelines (Global Affairs Canada, MEDA) across all project materials and platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets to secure positive coverage of project milestones, success stories, and events.
- Produce high-quality communication materials including press releases, newsletters, brochures, social media content, infographics, and human-interest stories showcasing women and youth beneficiaries.
- Manage the project’s digital presence (websites and social media platforms), ensuring regular updates and audience engagement.
- Facilitate effective internal communication and information flow among project staff, partners, and field teams across Bauchi, Kano, and Kaduna States.
- Collaborate with the M&E team to document project outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices for knowledge sharing and scaling.
- Plan and manage communication aspects of project events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, including invitations, media coverage, and post-event reporting.
- Develop and implement communication protocols to address misinformation, reputational risks, or project-related crises.
- Apply MEDA values in all activities-culturally sensitivity, transparency and integrity in all relationship.
- Train project staff and local partners on storytelling, digital communication, and best practices to amplify project impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in content creation for multiple platforms (print, broadcast, and digital).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media tools, and digital communication platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Creativity, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
