About the Role

  • We are seeking a strategic, creative, and impact-driven Communications & Advocacy Officer to lead communications, advocacy, and public engagement efforts.
  • This role is critical to shaping public discourse, strengthening stakeholder and donor engagement, and driving awareness initiatives that influence policy, reduce stigma, and improve access to care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external communication planning, including digital, print, and media outreach
  • Produce high-quality content such as press releases, articles, blogs, impact stories, advocacy briefs, and social media posts.
  • Coordinate media engagements, interviews, press conferences, and public appearances.
  • Design and implement advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing public policy, reducing stigma, and improving access to Parkinson’s care.
  • Plan and coordinate events related to Parkinson’s disease awareness, advocacy, and fundraising.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication, advocacy, and fundraising strategies using data and feedback.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and program teams to develop compelling donor appeals, case stories, and campaign materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters through consistent and transparent communication.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields
  • 3–5 years in communications, public relations, or advocacy roles
  • Experience in NGO, healthcare, or development sector is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in media relations, digital communications, and advocacy campaigns.

Core Skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong digital communication and social media management experience
  • Proven media relations and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling messaging
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
