Medecins du Monde (MdM) is an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations, the world over, including France. It seeks to stimulate voluntary commitment from doctors, other health care providers, and from those whose expertise in other fields is needed for its activities, to enlist all competent support required for the achievement of its projects, and to seek at all times to encourage close working relationships with populations in its care. MdM operating in Nigeria, Borno state since October 2016.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: CMR Facilitator

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract

Objectives
By the end of this training participants should be able to know how to:

  • Prescribe appropriate treatment for adult and children survivors of sexual assault
  • Discuss post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV as part of routine care for sexual assault survivors
  • Appropriately counsel, refer and arrange follow-up for sexual assault survivors
  • Understand the clinical service provider role in the implementation of SOPs
  • Identify elements of clinical management currently in place and elements to improve upon in their operating context
  • Explain the role of the clinical service provider in monitoring and evaluating post-sexual assault care services.

Methodology

  • Practical demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations, a pretest and a post test, case study and practical sessions, participatory methods, and other exercises if need be.

Outcome
Improve Participants knowledge on:

  • Appropriate treatment for adult and children survivors of sexual assault
  • Post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV as part of routine care for sexual assault survivors
  • Appropriate counsel, refer and arrange follow-up for sexual assault survivors
  • Clinical service provider role in the implementation of SOPs
  • Identify elements of clinical management currently in place and elements to improve upon in their operating context
  • The role of the clinical service provider in monitoring and evaluating post-sexual assault care services

  • Define SGBV and sexual violence
  • Guiding principles when working with sexual assault survivors
  • Describe the elements that must be in place in the health system for providing clinical services
  • Roots causes of GBV[
  • Demonstrate the capacity to take a patient history pertaining to sexual assault and document findings appropriately.

  • physical examination of survivors of sexual assault and document findings appropriately.

Qualifications, Desired & Preferred

  • MBBS or Nurse/Midwife.
  • Consultant Obstetrician and Gyanae
  • 2days training 2 sessions in a year.

Desired & Preferred Characteristics:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Trainer of Trainee in BEMONC
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Assessment and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, decision making and management skills.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
