Advocacy for Resilience and Innovative Solutions for Youths, Women, and Children Empowerment (ARISE Youths, Women, and Children) is a women-led, non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the prolonged hardships caused by insurgency, natural disasters, and economic adversity into pathways for growth and renewal.
Our organization is dedicated to contributing to efforts that address pressing needs within vulnerable communities. We work alongside partners to support initiatives in areas like education, food-security and livelihood, protection, climate action, good governance and children’s nutrition. By focusing on these areas, we aim to empower marginalized populations especially youth, women, and children creating pathways to resilience and sustainable growth.

Introduction
Climate change remains one of the greatest challenges of our time, impacting the environment, economies, and societies worldwide. With over 60% of Nigeria’s population under the age of 25, young people have a unique opportunity to drive climate action and promote sustainable development.
The ARISE FOR GREEN BORNO project is dedicated to mobilizing and empowering young Nigerians to take an active role in climate action. This initiative, which aligned with ARISE vision, seeks to foster a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders who will advocate for climate adaptation and resilience while bridging divides in marginalized communities.
Objective
The ARISE FOR GREEN BORNO project aims to equip and inspire young Nigerians to take meaningful steps in combating climate change through volunteerism, education, and community outreach. Our goal is to build a network of youth advocates who can influence policy, educate their peers, and implement sustainable solutions within their communities.
Key Goals
Through this initiative, we seek to:
- Raise awareness by educating communities about the impacts of climate change and the importance of sustainable practices.
- Provide training and resources to empower youth with the skills and knowledge needed to drive climate action.
- Develop leadership qualities among young people to champion both local and global climate initiatives.
- Foster collaboration among youth, communities, and key stakeholders to amplify the impact of climate efforts.
- Support youth-led initiatives that address local climate challenges and promote long-term environmental sustainability.
Planned Activities
During the initial phase of the project, volunteers will engage in:
- Organizing community workshops and awareness campaigns on climate change.
- Conducting training sessions to equip youth with climate advocacy and leadership skills.
- Leading tree-planting initiatives and environmental sustainability projects.
- Implementing school outreach programs to educate students on climate resilience.
- Establishing local climate action clubs to sustain engagement and impact.
- Supporting innovative youth-led projects that promote sustainable environmental solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Be a resident of Borno State.
- Be passionate about climate action and community development.
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Have strong communication and leadership skills.
- Possess experience in environmental activism, advocacy, or community engagement (preferred but not mandatory).
