Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a national humanitarian and development organization with over 10 years of development interventions and humanitarian response in Nigeria. We have partnered with several INGOs and NGOs in implementing people’s centered project.
Position Title: Child Protection Officer
Location: Nganzai LGA, Borno State, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time

We envisage rural communities in Nigeria that are environmentally conscious, where poverty is eradicated, and social rights upheld. We work with the poor and socially excluded people, and government for the promotion of environment and human rights protection in communities that are in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training and direct impact intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of child protection activities, including case management, psychosocial support (PSS), child-friendly spaces, and community-based child protection mechanisms.
- Identify and respond to vulnerable children at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or violence.
- Conduct case assessments, develop care plans, and provide appropriate follow-up services in line with case management standards.
- Deliver age-appropriate PSS and life skills sessions to children and adolescents.
- Engage with caregivers, community leaders, and stakeholders to promote child safety, wellbeing, and positive parenting practices.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case files and documentation.
- Support data collection and reporting on protection indicators.
- Ensure that child safeguarding principles and confidentiality are upheld in all interventions.
- Collaborate with health, WASH, GBV, education, and livelihood teams to ensure integrated support for children.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Education, or other relevant fields.
- At least 2 years of experience working on child protection in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Solid understanding of child protection principles, case management, and psychosocial support.
- Experience working with vulnerable children, families, and communities affected by conflict.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Fluency in English is essential; Hausa and/or Kanuri is a significant advantage.
- Willingness to be based full-time in Nganzai LGA.
