GOALPrime is partnering with UNICEF,  Irish Aid, Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) to reach and support vulnerable children and women in North-east Nigeria.

Background

GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is a policy-driven humanitarian, non-governmental organization that implements her program through revitalized partnership. It is a non-profit organization with a mandate of making the lives of vulnerable people especially in the face of disaster or crises. GPON is presently operating in the North-eastern regional part of Nigeria where we have reached over 800,000 lives with relief materials, child protection services, GBV mitigation services, livelihood skill-building, health services, and Education support services.

For the next twelve months, GPON shall be implemented with funding support from The Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), in Mogunu, Mafa, Kala- Balge, and Damboa LGAs of Borno state. This is a one-year project with the possibility of an extension. So, we seek candidates of the highest integrity and professionalism who share our humanitarian principles to the below position.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and implement child protection intervention under the Nigerian Humanitarian funded project. The position holder manages day-to-day delivery of high-quality CPiE project interventions implementation and oversees activities of project community volunteers to build strong implementation.

Dimensions of the Role

Reports to the response coordinator. The post holder will interface and support programme team members (community volunteers) in line with programme implementation guidelines and works closely with other implementing partner. The post holder with support from the M&E Team will ensure the running of CPiMS as well as other GPON monitoring and evaluation systems for enhancing information in this project across the implementing locations Mafa, Damboa, Monguno, and Kala-Balge LGAs. The role requires strong organizational skills as well as facilitation skills along with the ability to analyze and communicate complex information to the project team, beneficiaries, and all stakeholders.

Program Management:

  • Directly supervises and provide oversight and guidance to project community volunteers to ensure quality deliverables at the field level
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of regular reporting
  • Regular project monitoring visits across all locations and proposes action and project modifications if the need arises.
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations during implementation.
  • Working with M&E Officer and IMO Officer in ensuring adequate data capturing of project beneficiaries.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting team spirit
  • Prepare a detailed procurement plan and ensure adherence to the timeline established
  • Monitor budget and ensure adequate burn rate with support from response  Coordinator
  • Participate in designing awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting changes in attitudes and behaviors regarding CP
  • Participate in design and training of project community volunteers to ensure the provision of quality adolescents friendly PSS services
  • Leading and supervising the project community volunteers to ensure that integrated Adolescent Program activities are implemented in the right manner and within the required project objective and CP standard.
  • Ensure all prevention and response protocols to COVID-19 are in place before project activities implementation
  • Support capacity of project community volunteers, review of documentation, training, coaching, supportive supervision, and capacity building.
  • Represent GOALPrime Organization Nigeria in coordination meetings in project locations and give a detailed report to the CoP.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Finance, Admin and Logistics

  • Support response Coordinator to follow-up with Logistics and supply chain officer, financial officer, to ensure coordinated planning and efficient and timely procurement and use of supplies necessary for the smooth running of the programme.
  • Monitor and manage programme expenditure and budgets, ensuring resources are optimally utilized and spending is in line with GPON financial procedures and Donor requirements.

Representation

  • Ensure consistent and effective networking and coordination at the field level (UN CP sub-sector, Government authorities, and relevant NGOs).

Donor Compliance

  • Participate in developing donor proposals budgets and reporting to ensure they are delivered promptly in accordance with donor requirements

Key relationships

Work with various field staff in different sectors in response locations and departments within GOALPrime (HR, Admin & Log, M&E, Finance, Programmes), etc.

Technical expertise, skills, and knowledge

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with experience in INGO/NGO with at least 2 years of work experience in humanitarian response in the North East is preferred.
  • At least 2- years experience in child protection, gender-based violence programming
  • Minimum 2 years of direct CPiE/GBViE Case management, psychosocial support/counseling experience with a reputable agency;
  • experience working with survivors of violence in emergency preferred.
  • Strong ability to lead women centers and child-friendly spaces preferred
  • Experience in community participatory techniques and community mobilization
  • Knowledge and ability to speak Hausa and Kanuri is an added advantage
  • Experience in the use of GBVIMS / CPiE and other GBV databases is a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of Sphere and established international CP standards, methodology, and tools
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent report-writing skills is an additive

  • Facilitate the development and scheduling of volunteer outreach activities
  • Excellent community mobilization skills

Physical Environment

Roving the LGAs but with frequent trips to Maiduguri for reporting

Level of contact with children

High contact- the job responsibilities of this position require the post holder to have very frequent contact with children. It is expected that children who come into contact with GPON shall be protected at all times.
