CALL FOR CONSULTANCY: Facilitation of a Two-Day Training on Women’s Leadership, Advocacy, and Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB)

Background
Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support (ZEGCAWIS), under the AGEWEDS SEPIN SUSI Programme, invites applications from qualified consultants to facilitate a two-day training aimed at strengthening women’s leadership, advocacy, and Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) skills.
The training will bring together women leaders from Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Areas to build their capacity to participate more effectively in local governance, advocacy, and inclusive budgeting processes.
Objective of the Consultancy
The consultant will facilitate a two-day training designed to:
- Build participants’ understanding of Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB).
- Strengthen the leadership and advocacy capacity of women leaders.
- Enhance participants’ understanding of the importance of gender-responsive budgeting in promoting inclusive development.
- Equip women leaders with practical skills to influence local government planning and public expenditure in favour of women and girls.
Scope of Work
The consultant will:
- Facilitate a two-day participatory training for 20 women leaders from MMC and Jere LGAs.
- Develop practical and measurable approaches for tracking the impact of the training.
- Prepare and submit a comprehensive training report, including lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations.
Methodology
The consultant is expected to use participatory learning approaches, including:
- Interactive learning sessions
- Group work and practical exercises
- Presentations
- Guided discussions and experience sharing
Expected Deliverables
The consultant will deliver:
- A two-day training agenda and facilitation materials.
- Successful facilitation of the two-day training for 20 participants.
- A comprehensive post-training report documenting participant feedback, key outcomes, and recommendations.
- Practical action points to strengthen women’s leadership, advocacy, and Gender Responsive Budgeting initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Interested consultants should possess:
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB).
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in gender equality, social inclusion, and community development.
- Experience working in Northeast Nigeria or similar conflict-affected contexts.
- Strong facilitation and participatory training skills.
- Excellent report-writing, documentation, and communication skills.
