Background
Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support (ZEGCAWIS), under AGEWEDS SEPIN SUSI Programme, invites qualified consultants to facilitate a two-day advocacy workshop for stakeholders from Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Areas.
The workshop aims to strengthen collaboration among local authorities, traditional councils, and religious institutions to advocate for the abandonment of harmful practices affecting women and girls while promoting policy reforms and inclusive community dialogue.
Objective of the Consultancy
The consultant will facilitate a two-day advocacy workshop that will:
- Strengthen advocacy among local authorities, traditional councils, and religious institutions.
- Promote dialogue on the abandonment of harmful traditional practices affecting women and girls.
- Increase stakeholders’ understanding of national and international human rights frameworks.
- Support stakeholders in developing practical commitments and local policy actions that promote gender equality and inclusion.
Scope of Work
The consultant will:
- Facilitate a two-day advocacy workshop for stakeholders from MMC and Jere LGAs.
- Moderate discussions that encourage inclusive participation and constructive policy dialogue.
- Develop practical approaches for monitoring workshop outcomes and stakeholder commitments.
- Prepare and submit a comprehensive workshop report, including lessons learned, stakeholder commitments, and recommendations.
Methodology
The workshop should utilize participatory approaches, including:
- Interactive dialogue
- Stakeholder engagement
- Group discussions
- Case studies and practical exercises
- Consensus-building sessions
Expected Deliverables
The consultant will provide:
- Two-day workshop agenda and facilitation materials.
- Successful facilitation of the advocacy workshop.
- Comprehensive workshop report documenting discussions, commitments, and recommendations.
- Action roadmap to support community-led advocacy and policy reforms.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Interested consultants should possess:
- Advanced knowledge and proven experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in policy development, gender equality, and community development.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions involving traditional, religious, and community leaders.
- Experience working in Northeast Nigeria or similar contexts.
- Strong facilitation, documentation, communication, and report-writing skills.
