Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance for integrating biometric devices into workforce visibility systems in Kaduna and Kano, ensuring alignment with readiness assessments and state task-force requirements.
- Customize biometric firmware and software to adapt systems to local field conditions, connectivity constraints, and operational realities.
- Support development of technical specifications for biometric device procurement, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Advise task forces on selecting appropriate biometric modalities based on verification speed, ease of use, field conditions, and sustainability.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures for biometric enrolment, daily verification, exception resolution, device maintenance, and backups.
- Provide capacity building for state IT staff and selected facility personnel on device operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance to strengthen local ownership.
- Collaborate with the Systems Integration Specialist to ensure biometric data integrates seamlessly with payroll validation workflows, facility rosters, and HRHMIS components.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing biometric systems in operational or public-sector environments.
- Professional certification is required.
