Under the supervision of the EcoSec Delegate, the Analysis and Evidence Field Officer will be supportive in designing and implementing the A&E activities of the Projects; assisting the EcoSec at sub del level in preparing reports on project progress and will monitor the project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining progress of the Project and will be responsible for the collection & analysis of different data in relation to the project activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analysis, interpretation and reporting of data collected from the field especially related to process and activity
  • Ensure that data collection tools are ready and available for data collection exercise in JOS AoR
  • Onsite/offsite troubleshooting on Device Magic data collection tool
  • Provide project management support to specific and defined programs and projects ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programs that complies with ICRC standards and procedures
  • Follow-up on monitoring and evaluation findings to ensure that corrective actions are taken and/or adjustments are made to programme responses as required.
  • Train enumerators and volunteers in appropriate monitoring and evaluation techniques to build capacity of staff, increase awareness on the importance of monitoring and evaluation and encourage accountability for demonstrating results
  • Facilitate outcome/result monitoring for projects within his/her AoR
  • Train and support third parties and external partners to carry out monitoring and reporting of activities in remote areas
  • Disseminates and explains to external actors and partners about EcoSec activities
  • Plan and support A & E specialists during General EcoSec annual assessment within JOS AoR
  • Contributes to strategic discussions on innovation, accountability and risk management
  • Carry out direct monitoring and reporting of activities 

Education and Experience Required

  • University degree in Information Technology, computer science, statistics, development studies, sociology, development economics, financial auditing, programme management or similar field
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using data analytical platforms (SPSS, STATA, DATA HERO, MS EXCEL, STATISTIX

etc)

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a similar position
  • Good understanding and knowledge of humanitarian issues and current events in Nigeria
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in project cycle management 
  • Experience using online dashboards for data analysis and prior experience working with technology for humanitarian organisations is desirable

Desired profile and Skills

  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in English, Hausa and pidgin
  • Strong report writing and communication skills and the aptitude to handle competing messages and priorities
  • Solid knowledge of how to leverage new technology, remote monitoring platforms, and social media to gather and analyze local context and perceptions data
  • SALARY RANGE (Gross) – 397,700 – 437,500
