Job Summary
- As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen internal systems, we are seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Accountant to oversee and manage our financial operations.
- This role is ideal for a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) with a strong background in nonprofit financial management and a passion for transparency, accountability, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Ensure strict compliance with tax laws and internal financial policies.
- Conduct regular financial reconciliations and internal audits.
- Provide informed guidance to leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Support the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Accountant certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or financial management.
- Prior experience in nonprofit or development-sector accounting is an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- In-depth understanding of financial compliance and best practices.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral).
