Accountable Adaptation Fellowship by the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN) and University College London (UCL).

Background

The Accountable Adaptation Initiative is launching a mini-grants programme aimed at early to mid-career researchers from the Global South, particularly those based at African universities or working on adaptation issues in Africa. The programme is jointly run by the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN) and University College London (UCL).

Up to eight small grants are available for research on novel accountability mechanisms for climate change adaptation in Africa. The maximum grant size is GBP 4,500.

Researchers will have the overall responsibility for the design and implementation of their projects, with the support of an academic mentor. ARIN and UCL will provide ongoing support, networking opportunities, and an in-person write-shop to assist in developing a publication. Projects should focus on specific examples of improving accountability for adaptation in Africa.
