Grow Strong Foundation (GSF) is a child-focused, women and youth-led non-profit organization established in 2017. GSF is providing humanitarian assistance to Children, IDPs, and other highly vulnerable individuals in collaboration with NHF, UNICEF, and Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Northeastern Nigeria. As part of our commitment to achieving the objectives of our strategic plan, GSF is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the vacant position.
Location: GSF HQ, Oversee field offices in the Borno State
Reporting: Communication & Compliance Manager
Purpose:
The Accountability Officer ensures that Grow Strong Foundation’s programs are responsive to the needs of affected populations by managing feedback mechanisms, promoting transparency, and supporting inclusive decision-making. This role strengthens community trust and ensures compliance with donor accountability standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage community feedback and complaint mechanisms
- Conduct regular field visits to gather feedback and assess community satisfaction
- Ensure timely response and resolution of complaints and feedback
- Maintain confidential and accurate records of feedback received
- Train staff and partners on accountability principles and tools
- Support participatory monitoring and evaluation activities
- Prepare monthly accountability reports and share insights with program teams
- Ensure feedback mechanisms are accessible to vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities
Essential skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in accountability, protection, or MEAL roles in humanitarian or development settings
- Strong understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and accountability frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset
