About: Action Against Hunger
Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been the basis of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, in particular during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Safety and Ways of Existence – Water, Health, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
You will ensure the adjustment of the mission structure to the programs to be implemented and the funding available, the implementation of good project management practices (programmatic planning, etc, logistics and financial) as well as the quality of the projects and field trips of the Departmental Managers to support the bases. You will also organize a reflection on the programmatic approaches to be developed and you will monitor the context and in particular the capacity of ACF to respond to a worsening of the refugee crisis.
Specifically, your role will be to:
Supervise the management and development of human resources of the Country Office, create a common vision of values and the ACF strategy, and the role of each to achieve the objectives set and manage the management team of the Country Office.
Direct the preparation, updating and implementation of the country strategy.
Supervise programs to ensure that they meet the needs and priorities of the populations, that they are implemented according to ACF quality standards and policies and that they are evaluated regularly.
Ensure the dissemination and respect of ACF’s ethical and technical policies.
Represent ACF to national and local authorities, donors and various partners.
Oversee the management of the security of teams and ensure their well-being (staff care).
Oversee the proper use of financial and logistical resources.
Ensure the good collaboration between Country and Headquarters Office in order to mobilize all available expertise.
Profile :
You hold a master’s degree and you have at least 6 years of professional experience in the field as Country Transmitter Director or Deputy Country Transmitter Country Transmitter Programmes or Operations.
You have significant experience in managing emergency programs and development programs.
You have already worked in volatile security contexts; and ideally in Chad or in a Sahelian country.
You master English, both orally and in writing.
Employment conditions
Fixed-term contract of use under French law: 24 months
Gross monthly salary: from 3572 to 4128 euros depending on experience
Eligible position for Family status
Pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens: 16% of gross monthly salary
Basic salary increase: 6% every 12 months of continuous contract
Per diem and monthly living expenses: 767euros net, paid on the ground
Monthly context allowance: 150euros
Child allowance: 1500euros per year per child present in the country of origin (6000euros/year ceiling)
Transport and housing : Travel management and collective housing
Medical coverage : 100% of the coverage of health contributions (CFE + complementary health) and repatriation insurance
Salary maintenance devices (illness, maternity, paternity)
Leave and RnR : 25 days per year of CP and 20 RnR per year; support of the ticket with ceiling to go to the chosen break area, and 215euros of lump sum compensation by RnR
