Job Title: Procurement Volunteer
Job Summary:
The Procurement Volunteer is responsible for overseeing procurement functions, maintaining procurement systems, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires a blend of procurement expertise and strong procurement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research potential suppliers and sources for goods and services, staying informed about market trends.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting reliable suppliers based on quality, price, and ethical considerations.
- Prepare and distribute RFQs, collect responses, and assist with analysis.
- Analyze cost proposals, considering quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Make recommendations to the procurement team.
- Maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and vendor information.
- Participate in supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure procured items meet specified quality standards.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizations policies.
- Provide regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, vendor performance, and inventory levels.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory to maintain adequate supplies.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and coordinate deliveries.
- Offer assistance to the procurement team in tasks like data analysis, research, and administrative duties.
Required Qualification
Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement preferably in humanitarian settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and procurement-related software.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles and the prevention
- Proficiency in providing procurement counseling and education to the organization.
- Data analysis skills to interpret procurement data and assess program impact.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex nutrition information in a clear and understandable manner.
