Orphanage Officer at Almighty God Compassion Care Home

Giving hope to the hopeless. There’s a popular saying which says: “The poorest man alive is not the man without a dime but the man without a vision for the future”. Compassion ministry’s objective is to identify with street children considered to be social miscreants, street urchins, school drop-outs, prostituteand homeless, misguided youth in the society. The vision is to help the kids create a new life that will re-integrate them back into the society. Through moral instructions, teaching and training, we hope to re-orient the kids to believe in them selves, identify their potentials, approach life with the right mind set and acquire spiritual and technical training needed to succeed in life. To provide a place of refuge they can call home. To provide social and materials support that every child needs; like food, clothing, shelter, education and social infrastructure. To provide a school learning and vocational institutions where the student get a solid foundational education as well as trade skills that will help them succeed in life.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and build upon personal relationships with the children to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships of engagement with them and other stakeholders
  • Confidently motivate others to engage in partnership (both hands-on and financially) to support the orphanage ministry including ccorporate organizations, groups and individuals
  • Delegating and sharing responsibilities with other personnel as the situation requires.
  • Sensitivity to the cultural differences that exist among the children, and other support staff.
  • Accurately research and communicate needs of children to the management
  • Coordinate the coaching and mentoring session
  • Discipline and counsel them as the need arises

Requirements Experience and Education 

  • Graduate (Background in Psychology or any related course) added advantage
  • Must have passion for charity work/Children mostly
  •  Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Proven facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
  • General knowledge of standard office practices and office equipmentt
  • Experience in public speaking, PR, budget management, and strategic planning
  • Solid knowledge of church culture is required but not necessary
  • Knowledge of or experience in child social services is a plus
  • Must be scripturally sound.
